Futsal Teams for term 3 are entered. If you put maybe down to manage, I’ve just thrown you in there – let me know if this doesn’t work for you.
Please note: because there were too many 5/6’s and 3/4’s to make one team in each grade but not enough to make two teams, I have combined some year 4 and 5’s into the year 5/6 grade, again, please let me know if this doesn’t work for you. Cheers 🙂

Cross Country 2021Thu May 20 03:39pm
What a ripper day for a Cross Country! To all our parent helpers who helped make today possible and the support crew who joined us to cheer our kids on, a massive thank you! After an awful week of rain and chilly mornings followed by sun and 15 degrees today, I better also thank the big guy upstairs for turning on the weather for us – we’ll keep you on.
Finally, a massive ka pai to all our competitors who raced today (whether that was competitively, non-competitively or as part of a relay), your resilience, determination and sportsmanship made us all very proud.
On that note, here are today’s results. We have an Eastern sports meeting later next week so once all the details of the day are confirmed, I will send home what you need to know. The confirmed date is Thursday 10th of June and it will be run at the Field Days Site again. Unfortunately, only children who will be 10 or 11 by the end of the year are eligible to compete.
Whoops, that wee number came out a day early. Cross Country is still tomorrow (Thursday 20th) not today. Coffee cart will be there from 1145Wed May 19 08:38am

Year 5 and 6 Cross Country Entries …Mon May 10 11:37am
As you may know, this year we have added 2 new sections for our year 5 and 6’s to enter at Cross Country. This is a different way of running our cross country and part of a new initiative through the team at Gore and Districts Made to Move. This year children will have the opportunity to choose from the following sections …
Later this week I will send out a google form to all our year 5 and 6 students to fill out and choose the section they would like to compete in. To ensure there are no issues/confusion/disappointed parents and upset children on the day, it would be great if you could talk to your child about what section it would be best for them to enter before they fill out the form. There is more information about what each section will look like below.
From our school vision ‘We suspend judgement, by trying things out before we put things down. We are flexible and open minded and support people with new ideas.
Children leave St Mary’s with confidence that they can manage themselves and achieve their goals …’
Thanks for your continued support around this event. We’re really looking forward to seeing lots of you there.
Cross Country Sections
Competitive – if you want to be eligible for Eastern (10 and 11 year old as at 31st Dec 2021 only unfortunately) you must enter this section. In this section you also have the opportunity to win the Pearce Family Trophy for first year 5 and 6 boy or first year 5 and 6 girl. This is a 2km track.
Non-competitive – You will walk to the half way point with Miss Bond and start from there, finishing in the same spot as everyone else. This is a 1km track. Results will not be recorded and you will not be eligible for Eastern Cross Country.
Non-competitive relay – Three people per team (not 2 or 4 as this will not work). Your first runner will start at the start line, the second runner will start a third of the way around the track and your last runner will start two thirds of the way around the track and cross the finish line. Each runner will run approximately 660m (less than 1km).
